Angela Venegas-Murillo, MD
Dr. Venegas-Murillo is an Assistant Professor and General Pediatrician in the Department of Pediatrics and Urban Health Institute at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She graduated from Stanford School of Medicine in 2013 and completed her residency training in the Social Pediatrics program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore in 2016. After residency, she completed a health service research fellowship through the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program. Through the National Clinician Scholars Program, she obtained a Master’s degree in health policy and management and gained experience in community-partnered research. Her current research with LA’s BEST is focused on resilience building in trauma afflicted communities through implementation of social and emotional learning programming in the elementary afterschool setting. Her research is in collaboration with the UCLA Nathanson Family Resilience Center efforts to bring trauma / resilience informed care into multiple settings.
